Oil Producers Plan to Limit Output, Prices Rise

There was a surge in oil prices after OPEC officials announced that Saudi Arabia and other leading exporters will limit their output even if Iran doesn’t cooperate. Oil is now up about 47% during that span as speculators have become more optimistic that nearly two years of price declines are finally forcing big producers to slow down. This paves the way for curbs on crude production when oil producers from both inside and outside the OPEC will meet in Qatar in April.
