Finnish Company Stora Enso Invests in Next Generation Renewable Materials

Stora Enso, the pulp and paper manufacturer headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, has successfully converted a fine paper machine at Varkaus Mill to produce virgin-fibre-based containerboard. The company invested €10 million in 2015 to do the conversion work. The Kraftliner production, which began in October 2015, is expected to reach full production by early 2017 with a capacity of about 390,000 tonnes of light-weight kraftliner per year.
