Development of Alaska Located Bokan Mine for Rare Earth Metals Slowed as Prices Dip

Bokan Mountain, located in south of Prince of Wales Island in the southern part of Alaska, is the flagship property of the Nova Scotia-based Ucore Rare Metals Inc. and will be an underground mine. The development of this rare earth mine is put on hold as Ucore is focusing on a new processing technology and is waiting for the prices of rare earth metal to recover. Ucore had completed infill drilling and drilled groundwater monitoring wells in 2014, leaving at a natural stopping point before moving towards the next steps for development. The company has delineated a resource of approximately 5 million tons that is 0.65% total rare earth metals.
